1970 Grill and Shabu-Shabu in Tomas Morato has quickly become a famous dining destination. This area, renowned for its vibrant culinary scene and lively atmosphere, is famous for hosting various restaurants, cafes, and entertainment options that draw locals and visitors alike. It is a prominent district in Quezon City celebrated for its diverse and vibrant dining options. It has a reputation as a culinary and nightlife hub, attracting food enthusiasts from across the city. Amidst this bustling food scene, 1970 Grill and Shabu-Shabu stands out as an affordable yet satisfying choice for Korean cuisine. Although it is an hour ride away from where I live, I took a shot to know if it was worth it. What initially attracted me to the 1970 Grill and Shabu-Shabu was its affordability. They offer an all-you-can-eat Korean grill and shabu-shabu experience for just Php 699 per person.
Alternatively, diners can choose between unlimited samgyupsal or shabu-shabu for Php 599 per person. This pricing structure caters to various budgets without compromising on quality. They have a high-quality meat selection. Whether you’re a fan of beef, pork, or both, you can choose any of the satisfying varieties. The meat is tender and full of flavor, making it a reason for multiple revisits. I would if I could! Especially if I pass by the area going somewhere. Accompanying the main dishes are six side dishes that showcase the diversity of Korean cuisine. These include classics like kimchi and pickled radishes, adding depth to the meal with authentic Korean flavors. For those who prefer soup-based dishes, 1970 Grill and Shabu-Shabu provides flavorful broths for shabu-shabu. The ingredients include thinly sliced beef and pork, fresh vegetables, tofu, fish balls, and glass noodles. When combined and simmered, they create a satisfying shabu-shabu experience.
My Dining Experience
First off, the meats looked and tasted like premium cuts, they had a flavor that you’d associate with more expensive options. Our favorites were their thin-cut beef, the spicy one, and the thin-cut pork. I could tell that they were using young, tender cuts which instantly elevated the entire meal. Just the raw itself were looking scrumptious already! I was so impressed and excited to try it. The restaurant’s service stands out for its warmth and helpfulness. The staff goes out of their way to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Regardless of whether you’re a first-time guest like me or a regular patron. I must say they were very patient, helpful, and informative answering all my questions. I also like that they have a straight-forward menu so it wasn’t so hard to understand. The place was medium-sized and cozy, it can seat up to 30 people at a time.
During our visit, there were around 15 people dining but we were still able to get a spot that we liked. It was well-ventilated too. However, it’s important to note that the restaurant has one parking slot only. We were just really lucky to have the spot for ourselves. If not, we would have to go around and find a pay parking nearby. During peak hours like lunch and dinner, finding nearby parking might be necessary. I would advise you to plan your visit accordingly to avoid any parking challenges. Furthermore, my experience at 1970 Grill and Shabu-Shabu was over the top. I can say that it’s the best place where you can savor quality Korean cuisine at reasonable prices in Tomas Morato. Whether you’re a local or passing through, don’t miss the opportunity to explore what 1970 Grill and Shabu-Shabu has to offer! It’s definitely a must-try!
