GoodTaste - ANATher Travel Show

As a food enthusiast and an avid traveler, one of the joys of exploring new places is discovering hidden culinary gems that leave a lasting impression. During my recent visit to the charming city of Baguio in the Philippines, I enjoyed dining at the renowned GoodTaste Restaurant. Nestled amidst breathtaking landscapes and cool mountain air, this culinary haven has gained a stellar reputation for its delectable dishes and warm ambiance. This renowned establishment founded by Alfredo Go, has gained widespread recognition for its scrumptious food, generous portions, and affordable prices. Join me as I delve into the delightful experience of dining at the restaurant, where flavors come alive and culinary dreams are realized. Within a multi-level building, GoodTaste offers an expansive dining space to cater to its ever-growing number of patrons. The establishment’s popularity is evident from the bustling crowds that flock to its doors.

Going up the stairs, each floor unveils a vibrant atmosphere, teeming with the anticipation of a memorable dining experience. To ensure efficient service and streamline operations, GoodTaste employs a significant number of dumbwaiters. These ingenious contraptions transport dishes between floors swiftly and seamlessly, allowing the staff to serve their guests with speed and precision. It’s a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to delivering a delightful dining experience. Embracing advancements in technology, GoodTaste Restaurant has incorporated several innovations to enhance the dining experience. From the use of ringers to alert waitstaff to customer needs to the introduction of a serving robot, the restaurant has seamlessly blended tradition with modernity. This high-tech touch adds an element of excitement and novelty to the overall ambiance. GoodTaste Restaurant specializes in Filipino-Chinese cuisine, often referred to as panciteria food. The blend of Filipino and Chinese culinary traditions creates a diverse menu for everyone’s taste.

An Early Dinner Feast

We ordered their Group Meal D, a culinary feast designed to satisfy the appetites of 12 people. The centerpiece of the meal was their renowned Buttered Chicken, a dish that has garnered a dedicated following. Each tender piece of chicken was bathed in a luscious buttery sauce, creating a symphony of flavors that delighted the palate. The crispy skin and succulent meat made it clear why this dish has become a favorite among patrons. Accompanying the Buttered Chicken was the equally tempting Fried Chicken. With its golden-brown, crispy coating and juicy meat, it offered a delightful contrast in texture and taste. The combination of the two chicken dishes provided a variety of flavors that catered to different preferences. To add a touch of elegance to the meal, we savored the Bird Nest Soup. This delicacy, made with a nourishing broth, offered a unique and luxurious dining experience.

The meal also included a generous serving of Plain Rice Platter, any Filipino meal is incomplete without this! This simple yet essential element tied the meal together, providing a comforting base for the diverse flavors on the table. They also have a Filipino Favorite Pork Lumpia, crispy rolls filled with flavorful ground pork and vegetables. These bite-sized treats were a hit among the group, offering a satisfying crunch and a burst of umami with every bite. The meal also includes Lechon Beans, a classic Filipino dish that combines tender pork and rich, savory beans for an extra healthy treat. Finally, we tried the Miki Bihon, a stir-fried noodle dish that featured a harmonious medley of thin rice noodles, vegetables, and succulent pieces of meat. The combination of flavors and the satisfying chew of the noodles made it a comforting and delightful addition to the group meal.
