It is upsetting that many notable stores in Greenbelt were forced to close due to the pandemic. But, as the old adage goes, “When something’s gone, something better is coming.”
Let’s cheer up because the best is yet to come, and check what’s new and what’s gone at Greenbelt, Makati!
Greenbelt
The massive 2.8-hectare park is a haven for world-class shopping and dining. It seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor experiences, offering excellent leisure and entertainment choices in the City.
Stay hydrated since you’ll need a lot of energy to walk around the five sections of Greenbelt; Regardless, you will admire the mall’s beautiful architecture and vibe.
It has a calming outdoor design that will make you feel like you’re in a jungle, adding its beautiful koi fish in a tiny pond, birds chirping, and stray cats coming by every so often.
What’s Gone?
When I visited here in February, I discovered several restaurants and shops had permanently closed, including Figaro, Chicken Wings Store across ShiLin, A1 Premium Shabu-Shabu, Pound x Flatterie, Gelatissimo, Ti Amo Cafe, Nuvo Bar (Changed to Bloom Bar), and St. Martins (Ice Cream and Desserts).
A few establishments, including Sumosam, ShiLin, TGIFridays, and Blue Smith, were also forced to temporarily close their doors. Perhaps they are making changes to the place and waiting for more customers.
What’s New?
Let’s go with the good news; Bloom Cafe, Las Flores, Joybean, Armorica Cafe, replacing Seattle’s Best, and WildFlour, replacing Cafe Havana, have just opened their doors to customers.
Baskin Robbins, which has relocated to the Theatre Area of Greenbelt 3, and Marugame were just getting ready when I visited. I wish I could go back soon to try these two.
What remained?
Many of my long-time favorites are still open and servicing loyal customers like myself, such as Serenitea, Sodam Korean Grill, Fuma, Perfume Store, Cold Stone Creamery, Lorenzo’s Way, and the widely known Starbucks.
When I came here, I re-enjoyed the thick Coldstone ice cream’s sweetness, which was refreshing in the hot February weather.
Of course, I also went back to Lorenzo’s Way, one of the finest restaurants I’ve ever visited. Everything on their menu is delicious and definitely worth trying!
Las Flores
I tasted for the very first time the delicacies that Las Flores has to offer. Their Potato with Ground Beef is nicely tumbled with its cream, making this snack outstanding. I also liked how light their calamari was; it wasn’t the best, but I enjoyed it since I’m a seafood fanatic.
Definitely, a thumbs up for their seafood pasta; the flavor was just natural and went well with the shrimp and mussels. Therefore, I would conclude that Las Flores still deserves a shot.
Greenbelt Mall Vlog
For the time being, check my YouTube video to glimpse the expansive mall in 4k!
Greenbelt Mall, Legazpi Street, Makati City, is open every day, from 11 AM to 9 PM on Sundays and Thursdays and from 11 AM to 10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.
That concludes our visit to Greenbelt for now! We will surely return here to see future changes as the state of the covid-19 pandemic continues to improve. We anticipate that more stores will re-open and new ones will be constructed. Stay tuned!
You can also check out nearby restaurants here.
I’ll see you on my ANAther Adventure!
