Kirakuya Ramen – Is it really an Authentic Yokohama Ramen?

Kirakuya Ramen has made a name for itself as a go-to destination for authentic Japanese cuisine, with a primary focus on the art of crafting exquisite ramen. Originating in Fairview, Quezon City, the restaurant has recently expanded its reach with a new branch in Jupiter Street, Bel-Air, Makati City. It is strategically located across from the Department of Tourism office. While the restaurant excels in its ramen offerings, the menu extends to a diverse array of Japanese delicacies. From sushi and sashimi to gyoza, tonkatsu, and tempura the restaurant caters to a broad spectrum of Japanese culinary preferences. Furthermore, Kirakuya Ramen provides an affordable dining experience with set meals ranging from Php 398 to Php 498. Each is inclusive of a satisfying serving of ramen. Sashimi enthusiasts can also enjoy a platter for only Php 1,188, featuring an assortment of premium selections like tuna, salmon, hamachi, and more.

Living just 10 minutes away from the restaurant, I couldn’t help but try it. As a Ramen lover myself, I try not to expect too much, but it exceeded my expectations! Kirakuya Ramen in Makati has an inviting open kitchen setting. We were able to witness the meticulous and entertaining preparation of dishes right before our eyes. This design choice adds a layer of transparency to our dining experience, immersing us customers in the culinary craftsmanship behind each delectable creation. We arrived just in time when people were just about to flock for lunch. With an intimate ambiance, the Makati branch of Kirakuya Ramen can accommodate approximately 25 diners at a time. It is indeed somehow a limited space but the arrangement ensures that each guest receives immediate attention when needed. This seating strategy made me feel like I am one of those small eat-and-go restaurants in Japan.

Ambiance and Shoyu Ramen

Another impressive feature of Kirakuya Ramen in Makati is its built-in faucets along the open kitchen. We were able to have easy access to purified drinking water and didn’t have to call for the staff for a pitcher or a refill. They were just right in front of our table! This thoughtful addition reflects the restaurant’s commitment to innovative unique dining solutions. Offering a refreshing touch to the overall experience. Kirakuya Ramen take great pride in their Authentic Yokohama Ramen. The soup is cooked for 8 hours, giving it a delicious and flavorful taste. To make sure it’s truly authentic, the cooks from the restaurant went to Yokohama to learn the detailed methods of preparing ramen. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen which cost Php 428. Right off the bat from presentation to first sip of that savory broth, I just melted! It gave me such a great first impression!

Even the roasted pork was tender and I love how the noodles were as tasty as the broth! Not like other Ramen that I have tried where the noodles were bland. Luckily we live nearby, I will definitely come back here with my family and friends. The staff was kind and generous, giving us a complimentary Curry Chizu. It was creamy and cheesy, no wonder it’s one of their best-sellers! Operating daily from 11 AM to 2:30 PM and from 5 PM to 11 PM, Kirakuya Ramen accommodates both lunch and dinner crowds. The best time to dine is as early as 11 AM or after 12:30 PM as they can get crowded during Lunch and Dinner. To enhance the overall convenience, the restaurant offers available parking slots in the basement and along the street. Ensuring that patrons can have ample space for their vehicles without any hassle.
