MANILA GRAND OPERA HOTEL - ANAther Travel Show

Situated in the heart of Manila, a city steeped in history and vibrant culture, the Manila Grand Opera Hotel stands as a tribute to the past while offering modern-day comforts and conveniences. This hotel, constructed on the historic site of the Manila Grand Opera House, not only pays homage to its political legacy but also offers a remarkable fusion of luxury, entertainment, and relaxation for travelers from all walks of life. Opening its doors in 2018, the Manila Grand Opera Hotel features 8 floors and 205 rooms, inviting guests to indulge in luxury while surrounded by a blend of history and modernity. Whether you’re a business traveler in search of a refined setting or a leisure explorer eager to immerse yourself in the city’s offerings, the hotel’s diverse range of accommodations promises an unforgettable stay. The origins of the Manila Grand Opera Hotel root in the history of the Philippines.

The Manila Grand Opera House, which once stood on this very site, was an iconic political and cultural landmark. It played host to significant events, including the historic first Philippine Assembly in the early 1900s, and welcomed American officials during a time of political transformation. The echoes of these events provide a unique connection to the nation’s past. It offers a range of enticing amenities to enhance your stay. Take a refreshing dip in the inviting swimming pool, or indulge in relaxation and detoxification at the sauna. For those seeking lively entertainment, the Karaoke Bar & Lounge provides a vibrant setting to showcase your singing talents. Culinary delights await at the Circa 1900 Bar & Restaurant, while seafood enthusiasts can savor exquisite dishes at The New President Sharkfin Seafood Restaurant. Additionally, the Manila Grand Oriental Casino adds an element of excitement, ensuring a well-rounded and unforgettable experience for all guests.

My Stay

Upon arriving at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel, my initial impression was shaped by their strict privacy protocol, which was evident as they briefly interrupted our filming. However, once we clarified our intentions, the staff went above and beyond by graciously upgrading our room to a newly renovated one. Throughout our stay, the team was incredibly accommodating, guiding us through their array of amenities, including the inviting pool, lively Karaoke Bar (which is huge and I think the highlight of the hotel), and expansive function rooms. Despite being a recent addition to the hospitality scene, I noticed that the hotel’s design, both interior and exterior, carried a touch of classic elegance, even if some elements appeared slightly outdated. Our Premier Room, priced at Php 2,500, boasted a cozy 15 sqm space featuring either a Queen bed or a Double bed, catering perfectly to our needs as a party of two.

In retrospect, our experience at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel was marked by their commitment to guest satisfaction, exemplified by their willingness to accommodate our filming needs and their generous room upgrade. This, coupled with their array of amenities, made our stay memorable. While the design might have carried a hint of the past, the hotel’s warm hospitality and comfortable accommodations left a lasting impression on our journey. During our visit, the hotel was undergoing room renovations, which suggests that the overall experience might be even more enhanced now. Furthermore, the hotel staff went the extra mile by assisting us with ocular visits to the various amenities available. Their support added an extra layer of convenience and allowed us to fully appreciate the range of offerings
