Shaw Garahe Resto Bar & Grill, located at 307 Shaw Blvd, Mandaluyong, offers a laid-back dining experience in a cozy garage setting. The shaded, open-air space can comfortably accommodate up to 50 people, providing the perfect atmosphere for casual gatherings with family or friends. They are always up until late at night offering a warm and inviting space for everyone. The restaurant is famous for its Boodle-Fight bundles and brings a cherished Filipino dining tradition to life. Various grilled meats, seafood, and side dishes are spread on banana leaves, encouraging guests to eat with their bare hands. This communal dining experience creates an interactive and fun atmosphere, perfect for sharing meals and creating memories. Although they just opened in September 2022, the business is going well now marking their 2nd anniversary. It also became the go-to place for residents or workers nearby looking for value-for-money meals.

In addition to the popular Boodle-Fight bundles, an extensive à la carte menu is available. Guests can enjoy Filipino classics like Sinigang and Lumpia, as well as more contemporary dishes such as burgers. The variety ensures that there is something for everyone, catering to both traditionalists and those looking for more modern flavors. For groups of up to 12 people, the Boodle-Fight bundles are affordably under PHP 3,000. The generous portions include grilled meats, seafood, and Filipino favorites like salted egg and bagnet. This makes it an ideal choice for those seeking to enjoy a filling and fun meal without breaking the bank. They also have seafood bundles featuring fresh shrimp, mussels, and crabs. These bundles are perfect for those craving fresh, flavorful seafood prepared Filipino-style. Visitors may dine any day from 11 AM to 3 AM.

My Experience

We arrived at Shaw Garahe Resto Bar & Grill around 11:30 AM, as their Facebook page and Google listings indicated. However, when we got there, the place was still closed. The café beside us mentioned that they actually open at 12 noon. True enough, we saw the workers arriving about 15 minutes before noon to prepare the kitchen. It wasn’t until around 12:10 PM that they took our order. We waited about 30 more minutes for our food, so we ordered additional à la carte buttered garlic shrimp for PHP 240. Surprisingly, the shrimp was breaded, but it turned out to be delicious—the crunch added a nice texture. We ordered the SG 5 Boodle bundle at PHP 1,750, which is good for up to six people. It came with a pitcher of lemonade and pineapple juice. It would have been a great match with soft drinks but it wasn’t available.

The rice toppings consist of tilapia, liempo, chicken, bagoong, salted egg, bagnet, and eggplant. The food was really good, and for the price, it offered great value. However, I would say that the fish were overcooked as the meat was already dried up. Shaw Garahe Resto Bar & Grill also serves a selection of beers and cocktails, making it a great destination for a night out. On select evenings, live acoustic music sessions are hosted, adding to the casual, festive vibe. This combination of good food, drinks, and music creates a relaxed environment perfect for unwinding after a long day. For dessert, guests can indulge in Halo-halo, a refreshing Filipino treat made with shaved ice, sweetened fruits, and milk. Whether you’re stopping by for a meal or celebrating a special occasion, Shaw Garahe Resto Bar & Grill promises a welcoming, no-fuss dining experience that brings people together.
