Star City is finally back! Trying out Extreme Rides.
I was figuring out how much it would cost me to take both of my girls to Hong Kong Disneyland as a special treat. After nearly three years of being cooped up at home, I think it’s only fair to reward my girls with an exciting trip.
However, I realized I needed to save a hundred thousand pesos so that we could enjoy our trip overseas. Oh my, that’s quite a lot. That could be used for my daughter’s enrollment for the next school year already.
Then why don’t we just stay close to home? I’ve heard that Star City has just reopened after being closed momentarily due to a fire.
Star City
The Star City in Pasay is a well-known 35,000-square-meter tourist theme park in the Metro. It is close to the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex.
More than 30 rides and attractions await visitors at this theme park. All of them vary from kid-friendly to adult-favorite.
It may be crowded, so you have to wait in a long queue, but every ride is well worth the wait.
As far as I can recall, Star City was rather expansive before the fire. It had a number of famous attractions, including ghost and mummy houses, as well as various Disney-themed rides.
However, given that they only recently reopened following the disaster, we should expect a number of adjustments.
I’ll let you in on a little secret; when I was dating the father of my children, this was one of our favorite places to hang out. Awww, memories.
I came here last March with my two adorable girls, Clara and Ella. I knew that they would love the kiddie rides that Star City has to offer. Except for me, I’m a little scared of adult rides, but in order to provide you with more details about it, I had to overcome my fears.
We visited Star City at lunch, as it is open from 12:00 NN to 8:00 PM. We have eight hours to experience everything in here.
Because it was still a pandemic, we had to adhere to some protocols, and it was a headache to stand in a lengthy line and purchase the tickets. Therefore, if you intend to come, you should purchase your tickets online in advance.
The unlimited ride ticket is ₱400 per person, with the exception of Snow World, which requires extra fees.
Tornado
My first ride was on the tornado. It’s called a tornado because it will spin you around in circles until you become woozy. I kept my eyes closed so I wouldn’t get dizzy, since I had many attractions to go on.
The tornado was already frightening to me. Overall, I’d give it a score of 5 out of 10.
Star Frisbee
Due to its ability to rotate through 180 degrees, the Star Frisbee is a popular choice amongst young people.
I’m sorry, but I still have two girls who rely on me, so I’m not going to take any chances on that one. This mother must live.
Jungle Flash
Because it was such a scorching day, I knew I had to try the Jungle Flash. It’s like a roller coaster, but it’s on a lake like a railway, making you feel like you’re at a resort.
It wasn’t as frightening as the previous rides, but I still felt as if my spirit had left my body. I even screamed a swear word out of nervousness.
The attendant will advise you to lean back as the boat begins to travel downhill. This will allow you to calm down and take in the exciting twist that follows.
Surf Dance
Surf dancing makes you feel like you’re in the middle of a gigantic wave, but it also floats in the air and rotates swiftly.
I will never ever try this one. My human power is not enough for this, so I just enjoyed watching other people scream for their lives as if they were being tossed around by the seas.
Bumper Cars
There were also large lineups at their bumper cars zone. The bumper Cars was an ideal ride for anyone who lacked a driver’s license but wished to gain adventure behind the wheel. And here, you won’t have to worry about bumping into other cars, as the aim of this ride is to really crash into one another.
Jumping Star
Anjj and I had a ride on the Jumping Star. Even while she seemed perfectly calm during the journey (perhaps due to the fact that she is younger), I found this experience to be somewhat terrifying. The seat rocked us back and forth, and it exerted a significant amount of force that made our spirits extracted from our bodies.
Music Express
The Music Express can go as fast as 12 turns per minute in either direction. Even the DJ won’t think twice about cranking up the music volume as the ride gains speed. You are going to feel like you are losing your mind.
Snow World
Let’s head to Snow World, one of the most popular attractions in Star City.
Because they informed us that taking photos inside is not permitted, we will not be able to show you any images from inside. But I did see a lot of Snow World footage on YouTube.
We respect the rules and regulations, thus we must follow the instructions.
The payment for Snow World is separate from your entrance fee. There are also 150 pesos’ worth of gloves and ear warmer sets that you’ll need to purchase to keep yourself warm inside.
It should come as no surprise that ice and artificial snow make up the Snow World. So it may be boring at times, but it is still freezing. It’s a terrific way to experience a snowy winter wonderland in the middle of the year.
They also have a little coffee shop inside where you can have a cup of coffee while relaxing in front of a digital fire. You may stay as long as you like, until you can no longer endure the cold.
My kids enjoyed it. We will definitely be back next summer.
The Grand Carousel
Inside of the food court is where you’ll find the iconic huge carousel. This kiddie ride is obviously popular with both kids and adults who just want to chill out a bit.
Mini Rocking Tugs
My girls and I, together with Anjj, tried the adorable Mini Rocking Tugs. It’s comparable to the Vikings, but much more bearable. And this is the ideal way to enjoy a ride with your children. It seemed very much as though we were sailing a boat in a windy ocean.
Lolly Swings
Even though the Lolly Swing is intended for children, many adults rode it because, despite its milder intensity compared to other attractions, it still provides the same amount of twists and thrills.
Star Flyer
One of the most thrilling rides in Star City is the Star Flyer. The one and only inverted roller coaster in the Philippines gives riders the experience of flying with their feet dangling in the air as they go through each loop and turn at a high rate of speed. Of course, it’s a no-no for me.
Viking Sea Horse
If you watch my video, you will see how I struggled to recover my breath and stay alive while the seahorse ship continually swung us around. I swear not to ride on that again.
The Giant Star Wheel
It is enjoyable to round off your journey with a colossal highlight, such as a ferris wheel. It is time to wind down and appreciate Pasay City’s breathtaking surroundings.
How was it?
Since I’m terrified of carnival rides, it was one of the most exciting and exhilarating days of my life. This was a challenging task for me, but I’d do anything for my followers.
Here are my three favorite attractions in Star City.
Third, the Seahorse Vikings, which nearly killed me. Second, was the Giant Star Wheel, which would be scary for anyone with a fear of heights but was comforting to me. First, the Jungle Flash! It was amazing that Star City has a resort-style roller coaster.
The best way to enjoy Star City is to get here as early as you can. Apply sunscreen to your skin to protect it if you’re heading out in the afternoon. Also, if you’re there around late afternoon, you should rush up and enjoy everything inside.
Star City’s isn’t as complete as Enchanted Kingdom or Hong Kong Disneyland because it’s again in its beginning phase, but it’s still a wonderful destination to visit in Metro Manila.
I am impressed by Star City’s drive to rebuild after tragedy. They really desire to offer people happiness and joy regardless of the circumstances.
Star City Vlog
Watching this video will let you experience my trip to Star City and hear me scream my lungs out on each ride.
