Thai Mookata; Newest food scene in Makati

Thai Mookata - ANAther Travel Show

Hey there! I recently enjoyed trying out Thai Mookata, the newest addition to Makati’s food scene. Recently opened in March, this place quickly became a favorite among locals. And let me tell you, it’s a food lover’s paradise. From 4 PM to 4 AM, you can indulge in the sizzling delights of Mookata whenever your taste buds desire. Whether it’s a satisfying dinner or a late-night feast with friends, Thai Mookata has got you covered. One thing I really appreciate about Thai Mookata is their commitment to family bonding. They warmly welcome guests of all ages and even offer incredible discounts for children. Kids aged 12 and below, who stand between 3 to 5 feet tall, can enjoy up to a remarkable 50% discount. And if your child is 3 feet tall and below, they dine absolutely free! Now that’s what I call a family-friendly dining experience.

So, what exactly is Mookata? It’s a unique and delicious Thai dining experience that combines the best of Korean barbecue and Chinese hotpot cooking. The name “Mookata” comes from the Thai words “Moo,” meaning pork, and “Kata,” referring to a skillet or griddle. When you sit down for a Mookata meal, you’ll find a large grill resembling a shallow dome placed in the center of your table, surrounded by a moat to hold the flavorful broth. The grill is heated from below, usually with charcoal or gas, creating that sizzling heat needed to cook the ingredients to perfection. To start the meal, the grill is greased with pork fat or oil to prevent any sticking. Then, a mouthwatering array of raw ingredients is placed on the grillā€”marinated meats like pork, beef, and chicken, along with fresh seafood like prawns, squid, and fish, and a variety of crisp vegetables.

Korean Samgyupsal + Chinese Hotpot Fusion

As the ingredients cook, the delightful aromas fill the air, creating an atmosphere of anticipation and excitement. To ensure everything is cooked evenly, you’re provided with tongs and spatulas to flip and move the ingredients around the grill. It’s an interactive and engaging experience that adds to the overall enjoyment of the meal. I know, sounds familiar right? That’s because Mookata is very similar to Chinese Hotpot and Korean Samgyupsal. Just differs with some ingredients, spices, and sauces to add their own Thailand Cuisine taste. For me who loves both, I can’t stress enough how excited I was to try this fun dining experience! Now I don’t have to choose between the two when cravings hit!

Now, you might be wondering about the cost. Well, the prices at Thai Mookata are quite reasonable. On weekdays, it’s PHP 799 per head, and on weekends, it’s PHP 899 per head. Considering the quality and variety of food you get, it’s definitely worth it. So, if you’re in Makati and craving a unique dining experience, make sure to give Thai Mookata a visit. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. From the flexibility of their operating hours to the family-friendly atmosphere and, most importantly, the mouthwatering flavors, Thai Mookata has it all!

Sari-Sari Bar

A part of Thai Mookata is their charming Sari-Sari store where you can find Thai Snacks and products. it’s very similar to the Sari-Sari stores we have here in the Philippines. They even have a “tindera” or seller that just wears casual home clothes just like here. I thought it was really thoughtful and cute but there’s more to that. Curiously tucked away behind one of the refrigerator doors in their mini sari-sari store, Sari-Sari is a delightful secret waiting to be discovered. I noticed there were people entering the refrigerator door for soft drinks. I’m not new to secret doors so I already knew that should be it. As I entered through the refrigerator door, I was instantly transported into a place, far from the bustling restaurant. The dim lighting cast a cozy and intimate ambiance, setting the perfect mood for unwinding with friends or enjoying a romantic evening.

Sari-Sari offers an impressive selection of handcrafted cocktails, ranging from classic favorites to innovative concoctions that will wake your taste buds. Their skilled mixologists use fresh ingredients and premium spirits to create drinks that perfectly complement the vibrant flavors of Thai cuisine. As you sip on your drink and enjoy the relaxed ambiance, you can soak in the live music performances on the stage. They also offer an array of other beverages to suit every preference. Whether you’re in the mood for a cold beer, a glass of wine, or a mocktail, Sari-Sari has you covered. So, after indulging in the mouthwatering Mookata feast at Thai Mookata, don’t forget to explore the hidden world of Sari-Sari. We tried some of their drinks but didn’t stay long since we still have to work the next day. But I would definitely come back here to have fun with my friends next time!
